India has a significant accessibility gap in vision care—25 Crore people lack access to affordable eyeglasses. Many suffer from uncorrected vision simply due to the lack of awareness, affordability, or availability of optical services.
Approximately 1.2 crore people in India are blind, with a large number of these cases being avoidable through timely eye check-ups.
The Need
India’s eyewear market is largely unorganized, especially in Tier 2, 3, 4, and 5 cities, where 70% of the population resides. There is a strong demand for standardized, affordable optical services.
